Lachlan Standfield is a Senior Health Economist at Health Technology Analysts Pty Ltd (www.htanalysts.com) and a senior member of the Health Services Assessment Collaboration (HSAC) healthsac.net. Lachlan is a member of the Australian Health Economics Society (AHES) and the Australian Association for Regulatory and Clinical Scientists (ARCS).
Lachlan currently serves on the Health Economics Education Subcommittee of ARCS. Lachlan has worked in the area of Health Outcomes and Health Economics since 1999. During this time he has managed a Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC) evaluation group, and is now employed as an economic modeller. Lachlan has expertise in the economic evaluation of diagnostic and screening tests, as well as pharmaceuticals.
Lachlan Standfield holds a first class honours degree in Biotechnology, from Flinders University and was awarded the University Medal in 1996 for his studies. Lachlan has completed courses in Advanced Modelling Methods for Economic Evaluation conducted by the University of York, and Bayesian Methods in Health Economics conducted by Sheffield University. He has also been trained in the advanced application of TreeAge Pro decision analytic software.
Lachlan’s research interests include health economic modelling of diagnostic and screening tests, and pharmaceuticals, Bayesian modelling methods for health economics, and the analysis of time-to-event data using parametric and non-parametric methods.
Lachlan Standfield is a tutor in Health Economics for the Specialist Certificate in Clinical Research (Oncology) delivered at The University of Melbourne.
